Christ the King School Makes Data-Driven Decisions with Blackbaud for Faith-based Schools

Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory School is a Catholic Jesuit secondary school (grades 9-12) using the Cristo Rey model to serve young men and women from the Austin neighborhood and surrounding communities of Chicago’s west side. Christ the King opened in August 2008 with 120 freshman. Small, safe and faith-based, Christ the King expands on a tradition of successful education with a new urban idea.


Christ the King School opened in 2008 and current enrollment is 300 students, half of its 600-student capacity.

The school was using admissions and academic databases that were ultimately inefficient; did not integrate and “speak to each other”; and did not facilitate the easy and efficient extraction of data and related analysis. This led to frustrated staff and inhibited the school from effectively advancing its admissions.

As a small school with a little more than 300 students, Christ the King had a limited pool of admissions prospects. Utilizing their previous databases to help advance admissions goals and increase enrollment proved to be cumbersome, time-consuming and inefficient.
